We happily rent out our lovely holiday home in Castricum. We value good communication with our guests and entrust them with our home in the hope that they have a wonderful time, feel at home in our house, and treat it with respect and love, just as we do.
If any issues/problems arise, we are happy to resolve them together. If that is not possible, we resort to the following general rental conditions.
The general rental conditions:
Application
These general rental conditions apply to reservations and agreements concerning the following holiday home:
- “’t Hofje”, Breedeweg 59, 1902RL Castricum
In these general rental conditions, the term “tenant” refers to: The person who enters into an agreement with us regarding the rental of the holiday home.
Agreements deviating from these general terms and conditions are only valid if agreed upon in writing.
Reservation
- We only process reservations from persons who are 18 years of age or older. Reservations from persons younger than that age are therefore not valid;
- After you have reserved via email, you will receive a confirmation from us within 7 days, which includes the payment method. Please check the confirmation carefully and let us know if there are any inaccuracies;
- An agreement between the tenant and us is concluded when we have confirmed the reservation to you. The agreement concerns the rental of a holiday home for recreational use, which by its nature is of short duration;
- Subletting or re-renting is expressly prohibited.
Payment
The payment term is as follows:
- 30% of the total sum: to be paid within one week upon booking;
- 70% of the total sum: to be paid no later than two months before the arrival date.
- If you book a stay within a period of two months, 100% of the total sum must be paid within one week.
By paying a term or the total rental amount, you confirm that you have read and agreed to the general rental conditions.
In case of non-payment of the invoiced amounts within the specified period, you are immediately in default after the payment term has expired. In that case, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation and terminate the agreement.
The rental amount includes the rental price of the house. The rental price includes gas, water, electricity, and WIFI.
Key handover
The tenant will receive information in the confirmation email on how to obtain the key to the holiday home. The key is loaned to the tenant by us. The key remains our property.
The tenant is never entitled to keep or duplicate the key for any reason.
Cancellation
Cancellation by the tenant must always be done in writing (by email). The following cancellation fees apply*:
If you wish to cancel your reservation, you will receive a full refund if you do so at least 30 days before your scheduled arrival date.
You will also receive a full refund if you cancel within 48 hours of booking and at least 14 days before your scheduled arrival date.
If you cancel between 7 and 30 days before your arrival date, you will receive a 50% refund of the total cost of the nights.
If you cancel less than 7 days before your arrival date, you will not receive a refund.
In case of cancellation by us, any amounts already paid will be refunded.
*We apply the same conditions for cancellation fees as the ANVR.
Stay in the holiday home
- On the day of arrival, you can use the holiday home from 2:00 PM;
- On the day of departure, you must have vacated the holiday home by 11:00 AM;
- Smoking is not allowed in the holiday home;
- No open fire is allowed inside or outside;
- Staying with more people in a holiday home than agreed upon in the reservation, or exceeding the maximum of 4 persons for the house, is expressly not allowed without our permission, unless agreed upon in writing;
- Taking any part of the indoor inventory outside – except for dishes, glasses, and cutlery for your outdoor meal – is expressly not allowed;
- Causing any form of disturbance in the house, garden, or park is not allowed (including loud music, shouting);
- It is strictly prohibited to download/upload or stream illegally from the internet. The tenant is responsible and liable for their own internet usage, and if fines are imposed, these will be passed on to the tenant. The personal data of the tenant/offender will be disclosed at the request of authorities/copyright holders;
- Trash must be deposited in the waste containers at the side of the barn behind the house.
Liability/complaints/damages
- The tenant and other users are fully liable for all damage that occurs to the house, inventory, and all items belonging to the rented object during the rental period, unless the tenant and other users can prove that the damage cannot be attributed to them. We therefore recommend that you inspect the holiday home and inventory for defects and deficiencies upon arrival. If you notice any damage or defects, please notify us immediately;
- We accept no liability for theft, loss, or damage to or from items or persons of any kind during or as a result of the stay in the holiday home. We accept no liability for construction activities on access roads and main roads, etc. in the vicinity of the rented holiday home. We accept no liability for the failure or decommissioning of technical equipment, utilities, and/or the non-functioning or partial non-functioning of the internet;
- The costs of normal maintenance and repair of defects are our responsibility. If defects occur, the tenant must notify us and follow our instructions as much as possible. Any costs incurred by the tenant in this regard will be refunded to the tenant upon submission of itemized invoices.
- If you wish to file a complaint, it must be submitted to us in writing and with reasons within 14 days of leaving the holiday home.
Departure
The house must be cleaned and swept clean by 11:00 AM on the day of departure.
Applicable law
Dutch law applies exclusively to all these conditions and provisions of the rental agreement/house rules, as well as any disputes arising therefrom.
